Well I've clearly been out of the loop for too long now. Anywho, I got a new sealed repop AMT Li'l Mixer (2007) off Ebay for a good price, but when I opened it up, it's missing a fairly importaint, and not easiely recreated part (#306 on one of the chrome trees, half the rear axle and spring), after checking the instructions, I noticed a complete lack of information on missing pieces. Back in the days of the dinosaurs, there would have been an 800 number to call... I did send a note to the seller, but I don't feel they are responcible as the kit was sealed as is the bag containing the chrome tree still... Is there an easy fix/place to contact for this?

Is that the only part you need? If so, I have extras. I can send you one. Let me know.

The seller sent me a note that they would check into it... I'll get back to you Steve if I need it from an 'outsource'.

I'll save you the trouble of calling those assholes at AMT
WAIT A MINUTE!!! 'Those' guys at AMT are our own John Gruzula and Tom Lowe! They are great guys! The Mixer kit was done buy the old RC2 and not the current AMT....add to that they were done for Stevens International as a private issue. Sorry you had a missing part but I am sure the guys here OR Stevens International can help you out!

Well double dumbass on me. After re-searching the box this morning, I found the missing part. D'oh! The first time I went through it, I checked each bag containting the chrome parts (I really like that they bagged each tree by itself so no chrome gets scratched!) and the missing rear end part really stood out since they are 'paired' together on the tree... So I put it aside and finished checing each bag, noting the bubble wrapped clear at the bottom of the box. I didn't pick up the bubble wrapped clear section mind you, just looked at it sitting there. Today, I picked it up too, only to find a second bubble wrapped part under it. The missing part #306 rear end half and spring wrapped up in bubble wrap all by itself. I guess that's how they delt with missing parts at the factory, who knows? Who cares? Sure couldn't see it through the clear section and all I really care about is it being there! ;D Thanks again, to those that offered up the missing part! I'll check EVERYTHING before I goes an jumps to contusions next time...

ok I take that back. I have removed my post. I am not familiar with who now owns AMT but I do remember trying to get replacement parts a while ago and was told to take it back to where I bought it. If these guys are doing it differently kudos to them. I am sorry I did not mean to offend our members.

Hey Dave, I'm glad you found the missing part. I was going to suggest that you look in the box again before doing anything else. In the past, I've found parts stuck behind the flaps inside the box, especially small flat parts. Good luck with your build. I gotta get on my original AMT L'il Mixer build again that I bought on eBay before the re-issues came out.
