I was doing some web surfing for the Barris Surf Woodie and found this: www.gunnautotech.com/projects/class/surf_woody/I think this is very KOOL! I e-mailed them to ask what the progress is and this is the reply I got: "Hi Martin, We have not finished our Surf Woody yet. The School District is remodelling our Autoshop so we will not be working on it for at least 1 year. We have the engine and transmission/driveshaft all hooked up and I haven't posted those photos yet. We are also mounting the steering rack (our Surf Woody will have a steering wheel...the original didn't ) Be patient and I'll post the photos on our website but I've been extremely busy this year with the move out. We are still having Auto but we are teaching out of a portable...not much fun. Mike Camicia Gunn Auto Tech Instructor" Marty

That is very cool. I wonder if they are using the kit as reference. That would be neat to see, several kits built up in various stages sitting around the shop. A very interesting project indeed.

Look around the whole site.....Trans Am Mustang clone, drag Nova, More Surf Woody pics...neat school. We had a auto shop teacher like that. We built a 69 Dodge Van (it was 1974 so vans were in) He had a 63 Vette race car we would work on. And we built some cool stuff.
