Well, at least that's it's name while in progress. Not actually considered a showrod (according to the 275 list on the HP) but still an "adorable" (according to my wife) model kit. Started with an empty Thunder Bug body, using the wheels from the Hemi Semi. Going to make some changes to the body and put on some nice bumpers along with front and rear lights from the parts box. Might even put a big "head" (DD Style) inside...

'nother update. Found a nice figure to put inside. The Pink Panther inspector Closeau, who got his ugly hat removed and replaced with a German pre-war police helmet. Also found a nice pair of "stinger-pipes" (from a very rare Palmer 1940 Ford kit) which I modified a little and these will be BMF:d.

It's very cool to see somebody else customizing one of these bad boys. The added W deck lid looks cool but you should have brought it up a bit higher and made more prominant so as to stand out like the rest of the kit. I'm not a big fan of the scoop that was there either so seeing the W is a definite improvement. Very cool! Keep up the good work.

Since the whole car is a caricature, I didn't WANT the decklid to be too correct !!!!!! Also, that's why i did the special concave nose on the decklid instead of a stock, convex one. Last night I made new brackets for the bumpers and started painting the figure. Stay tuned......

Finally got som paint on this one. It'll be "rustred" primer and BMF + chrome. No topcoat, no gloss, no nothing!!! Here's a picture showing what it'll look like once I've put on some BMF.
