That ought to bring some comments. ;D ;D ;D It is actually the first day we posted pics of our challenge. I am still not done, but I have been working on it pretty regular. I stopped posting as often, because I thought all those little details may not be as interesting for you guys. But since you asked, my friend, here it is so far. The canopy is opened and some bracing was added. That fancy hinge had clearence issues, so I have gone another route since this pic. The aluminum bracing stayed. Hosted on FotkiAdded some blisters to clear the turbos and let out the air vented in for the intercoolers. Hosted on FotkiGot the pulley system made. That drive belt is a shaved down zip tie. All the pulleys are hand made. The item on the right is an aluminum water pump. Hosted on FotkiStill perfecting my putty welding. Those are intercoolers and a scratchbuilt oil tank. Hosted on FotkiThat's it for now. If you want to see al 143 pics of the build, just click on a photo. Yep, 143. It's already been compared to War and Peace. LOL. Too much fun! Flounder.

It's good to see you having fun with the engineering, and the work is amazing. Great idea on the zip tie for the belt! You should call it Magnum Opus....

Dude, I just went back through the entire build up page by page... I'm so stinking impressed I almost don't want to bother picking up the glue again, it just seems futile by compair... Mind numbingly incredible doesn't start to discribe what you've done! A World Class piece of work my friend, World Class! Glad you had a shot or two of "The Brick" as well, now I'll have to do a search and get a handle on what the good Mr. Tim has up his talented little sleave...

Mike, it's too bad you haven't been around longer. We've seen some really great builds from good ole Scott. He does most everything that way too. For a taste of what he can do with a showrod, take a look at his Flameout! www.showrods.com/gallery_pages/flameout1.html

Timbo,
If we go the the rules - the ones I chose and chose to break - then you are the winner. I think it's more like a T-ball thing - everyone is a winner. You put together a very cool piece. I have been learned a LOT of tricks.
New skills so far: Home made Moon disks Putty welding Canopy forming Hinge school - note I can't claim to have this one sorted out.
Post away, buddy. Everyone will enjoy them.
