Well here starts the next chapter in my krazie and stressful life. It's bad enough taking care of my daughter Lilly, but Friday the gauntlet fell. I was told as were 16 others, that our positions were being terminated. So now, and I know unfortunately I'm not the only one. I didn't think life could get worse but I guess I was wrong on that one too. Times I'd like to give up but then I look at Lilly and I pull shoe strings tighter and pound the pavement harder!!!! A friend of mine told me "God only gives us as much as we can handle." If that's the case I'm well on my way to be a saint!!!!!!

That really Sucks Kerry, but things always happen for a reason, so maybe there are better things to come. Keep your wits, and hold your head up high. A lot of people are being tested right now, and I'm one of 'em. Keep your faith man, it will work out in the end.

I know all too well those circumstances. I have three youngins myself and I lost my job in January! I had to wait even longer on UIB because I had to wait three weeks till my year was up from TN, or apply for TN benefits, then re apply for NY. We had our last meal and had spent our last dollar the day I finially received my first UIB payment! I would not have wanted it any tighter as the blood would have been drawn from the stone then! May God watch over you and guide you! It is a tought time right now. I am still not having any luck! Hope you do better. Jody

Sorry to hear it, man. That definitely sucks! Seems to be happening everywhere. I work for the State of Nevada and we're all still waiting for the axe to fall on us. Keep your head up and know that when one door closes...another one opens. Sometimes it is meant to be. Good luck!

My grandmother always said the same thing and I do believe that, "Everything happens for a reason" That really Sucks Kerry, but things always happen for a reason, so maybe there are better things to come. Keep your wits, and hold your head up high. A lot of people are being tested right now, and I'm one of 'em. Keep your faith man, it will work out in the end.

Luckily my part time gig at Autozone will become full time, but I still need to keep looking for better paying full time work. Who knows what it'll be but this world and time ain't keepin' this ol' kat down!!!!!
Hey Mark, anytime ya want to stop by. I'm working most every night this week!!!! Thanks.
To all of the others out there going through the troubled times, keep your chins up as well, we WILL get through this!!!!!

hang in there my friend. .and if you ever want to dump give me a call! ! ! Sometimes you think it will never end. . . providing for our kids. And it is true. . .but we are continually learning what to do. . and we learn and understand the routine. . .and were to get resources to get us through another day. The situation doesn't change but we do. . .and it seems to get easier but it is us taking control of what we have to to.
You are a strong man and have alot of friends who can give advise from their experiences. . . just start talking and asking all of us.
I will be praying God opens the perfect door for you.
God Bless Barten

Hey all, thanks again Dan, you're a good friend to have as are all of you. Don, sorry to hear it, I don't know what would be worse, knowing the end is coming or like me having it dropped in your lap without notice?!?! Either way it's happening all over and it's a bit disheartening. To know that a great country as ours is once again slowing down the way it is. I don't want to get into all the ploitical garbage but I hope everyone comes out on top when it's all over!!!
I've been hammering the job sites and hopefully it'll do some good!!!! Take care everyone!!! Stay strong and let's show 'em we ain't ready to back down yet!!!!!!

I have been out of work for almost six months now so it's tough out there. My goal is to apply for at least 2-4 jobs per day and see what happens.

I know you all are hurting right now with the job situations as they are, but I know from experience that if you want to try working as a temp employee...try Manpower. I'm with them and I've been working at the same temp job for almost 5 years now. It's in the Health Care Industry, and getting into this place full time is tough. I was almost laid-off back in December but was able to keep on. Try it. You have nothing to lose.
And for all you guys still working, don't be a slacker. Work as hard as you can and show your employer they need you as much as you need them. We will all get through these tough times.

Sorry to hear of your plight, Doc. God bless you and yours during these hard times. I have been blessed with a job for the City of Denver, but even that is no sure bet. They laid off 11 sheriffs because they wouldn't take a 2% pay cut (Let's consider they got a 14% raise before this). We had to take days off without pay this year.
Like my brother says and someone here said, you have to make them feel that they can't lose you. You have to shine and even blow your own horn to keep what you have nowadays. I have learned to do all kinds of stuff so that I make them feel they did the right thing hiring me. I even have friends taking courses at community colleges and such to learn more.
God Bless you and although it is cliche, I believe that things happen for a reason and that the Lord does not give you more than you can handle. My mom told me that and I truly believe it!
Take care to you and everyone in the USA who is having a time of it!!

I hear ya Roy. Right now it's tough for everyone, like I said we just have to sinch up our shoestrings and pound the pavement. With my life this is only a minor set back, just wish it wouldn't of happened, but it did. Now we just gotta move on and start a new chapter!!!
Hope everyone that is out of a job can find something to make ends meet, keep your chins up high!!!!
