HEY! STOP THAT! My 52-year-old heart can't take it. <GRIN> Like many of the other announcements that turned into dead ends, I'll believe it "fer shur" when I have paid for at least two of them and have them safely stashed away in my model-building room/office/pirate radio station!

Yeh, I didnt see any Batmobile either, but I am glad as hell to see the Forbidden Planet ship and the larger scale Robbie the Robot kits being reissued, and the Royal Rail too!

Type in "bat" into the search. It pops up. 1/32 scale though.

I wonder, since this is based off the old Aurora kit, does Round 2 have to go through Revell for these (since Monogram had bought out Aurora's model division)? Although guessing from the Batmobile's description, sounds like its been reverse engineered -- but still curious if Revell still holds some right to it. Round 2 is also releasing the old Aurora "Witch" monster model this month.
If possible, I'd love to see Round 2 / Polar Lights reissue Chitty Chitty Bang Bang ... and maybe, for something brand new, come up with Carl Casper's Ghost to go along with the Undertaker!!

1:32,man that's small,I guess I will add that to my Batmobile collection!!!!I have the Polar Lights flat box version of this in 1:25th? I believe it has figures, too. I also have built an Ertl Johnny Lightning diecast version of the 60's Batmobile.I try to snag anything 60's batmobile when I see it locally, and you can bet I'll get a couple of these when they come out! Here is a cool one (builder unknown) that I took a picture of at last years HMCA swap meet/model contest.I'm sorry if it's blurry,my battery was about dead when I took this: Todd

I find it hard to believe that here we are a decade into the new millennium and there STILL isn't a decent kit of the 60s era Batmobile in 1/24th-25th, not even in curbside style!

1/32 scale from reverse engineering like they did with Carl Casper's UNDERTAKER. Take a original kit and copy it into new steel. Polar Lights/Playing Mantis were the kings of this back in the mid to late '90's. Rumor has it that this kit was done back then, but because of liscencing issues it finally came to the light of day. I'm sure Barris will lay claim that he was instrumental in getting this kit done. This just goes to prove that 1 company is living through NOSTALGIA like us!!!

Revell Monogram has the old Aurora mold but holds NO rights to the car....so Round2 deal is with Barris or who ever is licensing the 66 Batmobile to Mattell etc. RM was never able to work out a deal....shows how good John and Tom are!

Well you gotta believe I'll be getting a couple of these, go figure. Too bad it was originally done in 1/32 (more of a challenge to us older Batfans) Gerry G
