This is a box stock build of a kit I've had for some time now. I didn't build it because I figured I would have to dig out my old airbrush to make it look like the box art, and between the set up, cleaning and hearing about the fumes, it wasn't worth doing. After seeing some of these kits built, I decided to try the fade using Testors custom lacquer spray cans followed by a clear coat. My hand got painted, but I'm happy with the results .The trim was done with Bare metal foil.

It looks fantastic Don!!!! You got the fade done great with a spray bomb!!! I think that would be harder than using an airbrush, but the results speak for themselves. At least your headers are in the right position. I used an airbrush, and Tamiya paints on mine. Now it's time to do the Revellion!!!

Yours looks great. I just finished mine last week as well. Now that I see the two of yours, I am wondering about my headers as well. I thought I put them according to the instructions and box. Russell

those are some great fade jobs and all are great builds. but yeah, getting the headers in the right position takes some work. simple cutting and re-shaping of the ends that go to the engine block. i did mine in candy red over a base coat of silver that had a ton of flake in it. i also left the huge drag chute off too because it looked way out of scale. it's a great kit and the chassis & engine are excellent for bashing.
