Went to the opening day of the attractions at Coney Island yesterday, and saw this...
Mine was Red, had the side panels as well as the gull wing top.
I still miss it badly |

Huh! Amazing! I was gonna ask the guy what it was and how old it was! It SOUNDED like a Beetle so that much was easy, but I didn't know where to start in finding out who made the rest.
That one above just needs some better wheels!
It was funny - we're two subway stops from the beach here where I live now and it drove past us at the station and I said to my wife "I bet he's going to the beach!". Then we got off the train, grabbed a burger and he drove past again!

Just received this shipped to my door for $38.00. It's sealed,and it still has the $2.97 price tag on it from KMart!!!!
Been after it for a while. Hard to find with the Sweathog figures!!!

I bought a couple boxes of parts for a decent price. It was really fun to do a bit of styrene archaeology. I knew there were a couple good things in there. At least two of them were from my past, so there was value there. So here are the boxes.  First look box 1  First look box 2  Decals and bits and pieces  Lots of tires. Part of a Zinger and parts from the bed buggy. The cool headlights were not there. Poop.  The Vette was nearly complete, but I'm not sure of the scale. Also included. Some small figures (mini men?) sanding stick, 1/64 camper, and part of a master link. (missing link?)  Here's the money shot. Firebug with most fo the important parts, 1/20 T altered from when I was a kid. T for Two from that same time period, and parts of a Lil' Mixer, some dune buggy I don't know and parts from the Serpent kit.  |

Nice haul Scott! I'm envious! That Firebug totally looks savable, and those Lindberg T's are always a fun build, I've done a couple of those before. Nice score man! There's a big flea market near us tomorrow - hoping there's at least SOMETHING model-y to check out. Most of the NY fleas are too cool to have anything we'd be interested in, but I'm going to head out early and see. Meant to feel like 115 degrees tomorrow  |

... some dune buggy I don't know... That's a Lindberg "Trailblazer" or "Dune Tiger", a pretty accurate model of a real car built by Vic Hickey. Here's an album. |

  So stoked to have this in my collection, I never thought I'd find one! It's missing a few significant engine pieces, most notably the main cylinders. I'm thinking the new Grim Reaper might be a suitable donor kit. They won't be pink, but maybe I can spray a translucent pink over them and get a close match. Anybody got some extra Grim Reaper parts they wanna sell? |

It's not enough to make this kit complete, I'm probably gonna have to buy a Grim Reaper for parts anyway... Thank goodness they have identical engines. |

All I have is the body parts,wheels and two engines. Might make it into an egg/toon creation!  Brilliant history/research book! Great score Pat ! Those are some nice kits and that book on Bill Campbell's art is one of the best books in my library . |
