Nice score on the Sweet Tee. Those are hard to find at a good price. I've always wanted to try to replicate to look and stance of the box art for that one.

Well the Foose pick up is hardt to get in the Netherlands, but my kit supplaier knows an hobbystore witch had it. And he went buying it just for me. And i have some cool tinghs in plan for it. With some skulls. It only needs an badass color. That Tall T is great also.

Well, the other day I was actually at the opening of a new model shop, about 45 minutes drive from my house. Yes, you read that right: a Modelshop opening! I was quite surprised, because the shops were closed all around and also on the size, on two floors, a quite generous store. It was very busy, but I do not know if all are modeller, or the people just came because it was a grand opening. Time will tell. But what is the case with our shops, there are military vehicles everywhere, european cars, and sports cars of all kinds, railways in all sizes, but no Showrods, not even something that goes in this direction… Nevertheless, the visit was worth it for me, I found some things I could use, and all for 100 bucks! Inside of one of the box: I've always been a big Lamborghini fan, so this is great: Inside of one of the box: Especially this one here, an original Fujimi, 1:16 model from 1977: Inside of the box: The most special thing is this, no idea how old, or young it is and what scale it is, but it is big: In mm: As a comparison with something similar in 1:25: In the store is a whole wall shelf with different colors, but beside was a big frame pallet full of these, 1 buck each can:

Nice finds Bobby!
Those Johan Mercedes kits are of the car that the Rommel's Rod is based on, I think?

Had a Jimmy Flintstone order arrive today! I was excited for this stuff to turn up.
Got a couple of these guys to paint:
And a tall T body to do something with:
This thing seems small after working on a Rommel's Rod for a couple of weeks

That JF Skull is really cool , and coincidentally I just bought one too along with a base for it ! Never painted anything like this before so it should be fun . . . maybe I'll watch yours first ! I was actually shopping for the JF Ed Roth Shift Knob but they don't make them anymore . So I went hunting and found one left at a hobby shop in the U.K. and at the same price with shipping under ten bucks !

Nice finds Bobby! Those Johan Mercedes kits are of the car that the Rommel's Rod is based on, I think? Tom Daniel married a Mercedes to a half-track and added some other cool Features, Monogram actually had a Mercedes SSK kit in stock so they just added the other tooling to that to make the kit. Unfortunately, I do not know exactly what the Monogram kit was and which model year the Mercedes is, but here are some pictures of the Johan kits compared to the RR:

I have a suspicion that the Rommel's Rod is actually based on a Mercedes-Benz 540K rather than an SSK...the SSK has three exhausts but the 540K only has two like the RR

My best finds In the UK. After many years located an AMT Lil Yeller and Lil Mixer....Sadly not the original issue with the larger big and littles. From the later issue with the smaller rear slicks...

For some reason, the roadster appears to have been billed as a 1939 model year, and the coupe as 1936.

Ohh, I didn't realise there were two versions of the 540K - interesting!

Ohh, I didn't realise there were two versions of the 540K - interesting! Monogram originally did a four seat convertible and later a coupe version of that kit. Johan did the two seat roadster, which is swoopier looking than Monogram’s convertible. Brian

Yep. All the pieces are there and its NOT a glue bomb. No extra decals. I could paint the stripes. The lettering would more difficult.
