I am Dave Stuckey in Wichita, Ks. I am the one who built the original Lil Coffin in the late 50's. I was talking to Shon Wittenbarger and he was telling me about this site. He said I should get on it and my list my website so any one who is interested could read it. So here it is. davestuckeyslilcoffin.com. I am also in the process of building another '32 which is going to be just as radical.

OMG Dave Stuckey!!!! Lìl Coffin is my favourite show rod of all time!!! Simply the best!!! I have built my kit version for a very long time. The problem I haven`t found a photo about this masterpieces chassis from underside for detail reference. If you can sell me photos or posters about that real Lil Coffin from 60`s before it was altered to Monkey Ward Delivery by Starbird, please pm me!!!

Man this is awesome! I'm glad to see you drop by in here Dave. Here is a little something to show you how much some of these guys admire your work and also a little refresher for the new guys who haven't seen some of the classic builds that have drifted through here! First off, here is one of the most spectacular builds of the later LiL Coffin from Tory. So nice! Speaking of Paul Burke, how about this representation! Just plain wild and always one of my favorites here!

Dave, great to have you as part of this group of klowns. Like many others, I have been a L'il Coffin fan for many years (I have a few kits and bodies in my stash). I started the kit a long time ago using the June '62 Rod & Custom article as my guide, so the kit is getting a few mods. As the cover of R&C said, it was, is and always will be 'King of the Deuces'. I just read your page and the info is very historical and interesting. Thanks for the link and thanks for coming by. WWW.FOTKI.COM/HOWARDCOHEN

Welcome Dave. Here is my take on your Lil Coffin (I call it the Open Coffin) and the Peppermint Fuzz (32 Skidoo) which, I am told was inspired from the early Coffin:

Something about this site just attracts hot rod heros. Must be the Kool Klowns. Dave, the Lil' Coffin has also been one of may all time favorites. I built two as a kid and still have my "Demon" Hot Wheels. I am afraid I have no current model to add, but I did a what-if a few years back. Hope to see you back soon, Dave. Please bring more pics. Fantastic that you dropped in Dave. For me there are 3 great 1:1 rods and the Coffin is one of them and to top it off in a kit is even better. I have just gotten my 2 coffin but 1st complete one so I am yet to build it but I look forward to the build. I think building the plastic one will be a lot easier than the one you built. Dont be a stranger and we hope to see more of your new project.
Were not worthy.

Welcome Mr Stuckey!! Love the LIL COFFIN, as a matter of fact ,I am restoring my original from the 1970's!! I built it and used red felt for the interior , kept it body color!! Then a couple years ago I moulded the fenders and suicided the doors and painted it gold!! Now I am restoring it back to original!! Will use CANDY APPLE RED this time!! Thanks for years of fun!!
