It was great FUN. . . but . . .well. . . .they are military builders! and well . . I don't think that way. . . . . . yet? Their builds in the show and tell were just outstanding in detail and paint! It will be fun to get to know and learn from these guys. . . even thought they are not showrod guys! I did show them one of my customs showrods. . . and well they didn't run me out of the room. . . there were about 30 guys. . .and next month is a build night. I will be building again . .. . it is all good! I will bring my Raul's Rod. But I was asked to speak/present to the club about building from household items. . . so that will be fun to try to get them thinking different about the stuff they use everyday! I can't wait to build again! God Bless Barten

You will learn and teach a lot and make some new friends.
Household items? Like Super Clean for removing paint; aluminum foil for casting small parts; plastic spoons for testing paint colours; paper baking cups for mixing paint; oven range hoods for making a spray booth; vinegar for removing the smell of paint and glue (just leave a small dish filled with vinegar in the room); vinegar for cleaning tools (soak your dirty tools in it); toothpicks for all sorts of things from glue dabbing to holding parts; lots more, keep thinking.

In case you don't know...dan is THE person who can build a model out of pretty much anything. tape dispensers, computer parts, junk found along the side of the road, plastic packaging, shampoo bottles, you name it. dan can take a pile of junk and build something ultra cool out of it. check this out....this is just a sample of what he can do. www.showrods.com/gallery_pages/2002_contest/short_bus.html

Dan, They don't know what they are in for! Your ideas and methods will blow them away! They will have a master among them. When you are finished with them they will be building tanks out of old modems.....

Listerine Dispencers Promotional pieces and 20oz pepsi bottles glued together for the back wheels.. And my Epson printer that went bad! . . . . It is a fun challenge to get something to work! I have to get working on something new! God Bless Barten

vinegar for removing the smell of paint and glue (just leave a small dish filled with vinegar in the room) That's a tip good enough to bring a REALLY OLD thread back from the dead! I'd been using my wife's expensive candles 😂
