While the rest of you are hammerin’ plastic (or in Wardster’s case, spot welding), I figured I would slip one in on the Revell’s Deal’s Wheels Never Was line. It’s not a new build (no time for that), but it’s definitely a bash, along the lines of some of Dave’s sportsters that should have been produced. The base kit was a Heller Alpha Romeo Zagata, which I cut and realigned. Sorry, no WIP shots. Headlights match the others (Abone, Acey Deucey and Sure Woody). Some Alcad’d ink pen nibs supplied the pipes. An extra Glitter Bug driver’s head and an epoxy putty body. The scarf is just plastic strip, heated and formed to give that flappin' in the wind look. For the spoked hubs, I trimmed the Heller kit’s wheels to just fit inside a set of Peace Van hubs. I had toyed with the idea of using some kind of early roadster wheels (ala Eggzilla, on his Deal’s ’29 pickup), but I really liked the “pregnant roller skate” look combined with the rear mounted spare! Oh, and there’s box art, too!

I don't know what your day job is, but I think you would fit in well at Revell's R&D office. Maybe you could get us some new "Automatic Plastimatic Wheels!" Great build Jim! ;D

very nice by the way is that the head from the glitter bug Yep, that's Fred C. Dobbs behind the wheel. I had an extra head from some eBay parts lot way back. However, when I did the art, I copied the face from Dave Deal's Lucky Pierre illo (including that amazing schnoz!), since they're so similar. And it's so Big Deal. (Tres, I hope you're okay with me putting that little bit into what I consider to be an homage illustration )
