My whole house was once nothing but Countach Posters I used tamiy rattle can black with urethane clear. Do not do that!!!!!!!!!! Even low tack tape will pull it up as it does not adhear to the Tamiya. After painting the semi flat on the flares for some contrast I used brushed future to recoat the areas that pulled up. cant see it unless you look real close thank goodness

Yes they play an excellent role in making the model car shine a stand out. I have learned from a friend in the past. I thought .. eh... floor polish... and then I went to grocery store and saw it on shelf... Thought... eh what the heck and tried it.... I gasped after the result and thats my holy grail for this thing!! LOL I have a kit just like yours and I have been keeping it in package until my skills became sharp. I ran over a clip in you tube and thought its a really far out display even with a model standing next to it.. take a look there... with this doll... eh I d rather remove that and let it stand out istelf which is more realistic than just a TOY... Ride on with your work !

It's nice to see one of these finished. The Countach is also one of my all time favorite cars. I have a couple 1/24 and the 1/12 Doyusha kits, One day I'll get back to working on the Doyusha.

If I can ever find another one that I can afford I want to take a stab at this kit again. I got this one from a closeout advertised in Scale Auto where they were blowing them out in the 90s for 29 bucks. They had not been able to sell them and liquadated them. Maybe I will get lucky and find another ;D

I have two kits ... one is from Testors and the other is from doyusha.. I realized the Testors company did compromised a marketing agreement to sell them.. I bought the Testors for 30 bucks back in 90's. Then later on, I found plenty of doyusha in evilbay and want to get the other one..got them for surprisingly same price. After a couple weeks ..I compared the testors and realized every thing in there are exact the same and thought.. ah.. probably they compromised something there. What you all think?
I checked again on evilbay..they do exists sometimes but hard to get a cheaper price. ... I think these kits are back on demand list.

Do you all think the doors are hard to open or close? Because they seem that they don't hold good?

The 1/12 scale kit would fit OK If you would file open the gaps a little better to allow for some paint. The very back hatch is WAY off and could be sanded down Alot. I can't open any of the two back hatches without chipping paint and I have to do some prying to get them shut. The front bonnet fits perfect. front window glass was perfect but I had to polish it for hours and it is still not that clear, very rough. headlight covers could use a touch of clearance help. cut the springs and dont use the support pegs although the real car sits a bit high for my taste. you need to replace the molded lines and wires with real wire. good detail in the motor area. with my current skill levels compared to15 years ago I could make this much nicer. I too purchased the Testors blowout for 29 bucks. The white car from DVS looks like the Konig or Anniversary version as it is not the factory body. I have always wanted that version as I think it is very cool. I hope these tips help

Hmm.. I have noticed the doors on this kits..well..some on other similiar kits... having doors that hooks to the body but wiggles as you try to open or close. I ponder in some days on how to build a hinge that would incorporate with the doors to make it open and close smoothly and firmly. I wonder if we scratch build the hinges out of brass and set it on doors? If I use brass metal..what glue shud I use to stabilize them on plastic...?

Well the 1/24 scale one that I have I couldn't get the doors on after paint so after much frustration I just gave up and put it back in the box

I had a 5' long poster of it hanging on my wall when I was a kid, Still have the poster. ;D
