Hi guys. I'm a fan of the work of "Spritz by Fritz" (Fritz Schenck) and he has his own web site, so I figured I'd post a link to it: www.spritzbyfritz.com/I picked up both of his how-to DVD's, and found both of them to be worth every penny. (Any others he puts out, I'm gonna buy!) Quoting some background info from his home page:"Fritz Schenck is a pioneer of custom show rods. He has been building and painting cars and bikes for almost 30 years. In fact he bought his first car, a 1955 Chevy sedan when he was in the 6th grade. Wow! That's 1977 folks! Fritz knows that people go to car shows to see "show cars" and the work he does never goes unnoticed. His creative body styles and paint techniques perpetuate what those of his mentors of the past did, yet he contributes new works for the future. Fritz is more of a renaissance man, a cross between an artist and a gear head. He can give you that kick ass paint work that takes your car or bike to a new level of cool. He can customize from the most subtle chops to full out radical sections. But what is most important is to keep customizing and not to let the classics get crushed at the junkyard. Fritz wont let you give up on your project, come to him and let Fritz build your dream. " Contact info:Spritz By Fritz P.O. Box 1306 Belton, MO. 64012 T 816.322.2205 E spritzbyfritz@aol.com

Love the heads on that Knucklehead!
Are those old school speed parts (I think Linkert made a dual carb manifold) or something you've created?

the heads are 1938 Knuckles, they were duel carbed a long a$$ time ago, its all vintage home made stuff I pieced to gether the carbs are #M35 Link's, the right carse is a 1940 and the left a 1970. My Pal Bob McQueen and I have a lot of time in that engine Fritz

I'm really happy to see you doing this kind of stuff, Fritz... the custom car world needs more of this kind of stuff. Roth started something and didn't always do the best job of it... you're taking it to the next level and I'm glad. These things are way kooler than wheeled pool tables and toilet seat cars! Keep 'em comin'! Hopefully, you'll have the "Bandeeto" finished for Salina next year.

I see that the Roswell car is a feature at the Detroit Autorama next month. Anyone going? I am planning to be there Thursday to Sunday morning, camera in hand shooting a thousand plus photos, maybe a few souvenirs Fritz - will you be bringing the car and maybe some souvenirs to sell? If so, I could use a model or two

A very big thanks to "Wardster" for posting me up here! You're very welcome, man! Glad to do it! Anyone seen the February 2012 (#50) issue of "Car Kulture Deluxe" yet? I have, and Fritz has some cool words-n-pics in it! Pages 94 and 95 show some tasty little pics of the Roswell Rod; including some in-progress shots. (Which I personally can't get enough of!) They also mention the "Baja Bandeeto" in the text, in passing -- so I'm taking that (or hoping, anyway) as a teaser that they'll maybe feature the BB in their pages, when that one's all done!

started watching my Fritz how to (paint) dvd last night. This is awesome so far! I already KNOW I'll be buying the the other 2 in the set! Me too! I bought the first two he put out, and did a review on them, somewhere else on these boards -- but, basically: "what you said." I wasn't even done watching his first two sets, before I told myself what you said: any other DVDs Fritz makes, I want! Note that, somewhere on one of the first two DVD sets, he half-promised (half-threatened?!) to make one at some unspecified future point, about Old School ways to paint things. I'd snap that one up in half a heartbeat, after seeing his first few DVD sets!

Having bought and watched all four of Fritz's very inspirational and instructive DVD's that he has made, so far, I just thought I'd throw in another "plug" for the man's products. :-)
The only warning I'd issue about the DVD series is that if you're buying them without any real intention of actually doing the stuff Fritz is demonstrating -- (that is: just buying them to see how it is done; without actually giving it a try) -- you may end up finding yourself not sticking with your original plans, after you've checked out his DVD's. They sneak up on you! He's got me doing 1:1 scale real world stuff that I never figured I would try; let alone succeed at. He makes it look normal and do-able ... and darned if it doesn't feel that way, when I've tried it! I'm not doing anything too crazy strenuous -- just painting a friend's mailbox, for starters -- but it's great to see how some of the skills that we scale modelers may already have, can be extended or expanded or adapted, to doing things like going ballistic on custom mailboxes! I never figured I'd be trying pinstriping, or spraying metalflake, or doing golf leaf ... but he's got me trying all of them, after watching his first painting DVD. They're all well worth the money!
The t-shirts he sells are also high quality items, all around. I've picked up several of those.
And I recently picked up two resin car bodies from his web site, too. (The "Wishbone" and the "GlobeHopper".) As with any limited production, cast-by-hand type of product they'll need a bit of clean-up ... but not too crazy much. I've ground away on both of them, a bit (to adapt them to slightly-different-than-intended purposes -- wanna see how a bubbletop looks on the GH, for one) and I haven't had any bad experiences with them; despite the abuse I'm tossin' at 'em. Didn't crack anything; or find any major problems like air bubbles under the surface or whateve. (Which sometimes happens, if a person isn't using pressure casting equipment.) My two resin bodies were both well cast. They look like they'll build up into cool little models. By my standards, they were very well worth the money ($18 each, plus shipping) -- especially given the relative rarity of the real world, Ed Roth-designed-and-built cars that those two cool bodies were both copies of. I considered the resin parts I bought a bargain for the price.
Fritz rocks! He does lots of cool stuff, himself ... and he wants others to do the same! I'll be one of his first customers for any new DVD's he wants to put out, down the road!
