Hobby Lobby put these on clearance this week..$11.99..so I thought why the heck not. A Quick bash/build.
Don't really know where I'm going with this so bear with me. Any suggestions are welcomed.
First thing I did was chop the roof and sedan off. You want to know how tricky it was to keep the "molded-in" windshield frame in? Well without breaking it, only a couple of curse words were heard in the household. LOL. I then added sheet styrene to cap it off. more to come with that.
Here is the grill that comes with the kit. Every part to this kit is REALLY attached to the sprue. Need a hacksaw to get them off.
I cut out the lateral bars and lens holders and tilted them
I then cut out the background from a coffee can peel-off cover for a custom look.
I might add some BB's to simulate the old door knobs the rodders used back in the day to adorn their grills. Don't know yet, maybe 5 across?
Well here it is. Will have to re-chrome(Allclad) it. Looking for some lens, might stick with the red headlamps it comes with.
Might go with a faded Black/Blood Red combo or fade job? More to come, later......
Well, time to take out the rare plastic and cut. It needed something on the deck. So out comes the Predicta.
Well this build is certainly unpredictable...hey that might be a name ....anyway here goes......
I masked it off for the cut I want.
OK...Hows it gonna' fit...mmmm. It will do .Lets see.
Looks good from here.
Filled in with Paper Clay. Let it dry. Sand. Fill in. Sand. Go over with a finishing glazing putty and be happy with it. Here comes the puttying and sanding HeII. LOL
Can't wait til I prime and see it in a mono-chromatic color to see where it's heading.......truely an off the cuff build
