More proof that I build showrods! I've been waiting to put together one of these for years. I grew up with the Munsters, but never picked this one up as a kid. Maybe I was too into kits with artwork on the boxes. Anyway, it was fun and went together well. I skipped the Surf Slab, tho. Didn't really go with the look. I think the production company might have felt guilty about the amount of plastic you got for your bucks! Rustoleum Gold Rush paint and gold Bare Metal foil under gloss coat. Plum inner coat and seat and gloss red accents. I swapped out the rear slicks for a set from the Lil Yeller (pretty sure that's been done before ) It did go into the purple pond once, but because of the intricate detail on the trim, I found a new use for my Waterpik -- blasting out old paint!

Very well done!
I really like the gold foil accents on the coffin. Good choice in swapping the slicks too.

I think that's the cleanest build of a Drag-u-la I've ever seen. Nice work.

Thanks for the kind words, folks.
I like what the gold foil did as well. 2 things, tho.
1. It did not like sticking to the Rustoleum. May have been that it wasn't glossy, so I'd lay down a coat of clear first, next time.
2. I am definitely at that age to need one of those magnifying work lights. I had one, but the mounts busted.
Those two things would have given me the gumption to be more careful with the detail work. It looks good on the shelf, tho.
And yes, that's the backdrop that came with the kit (there's a connecting piece in the other Munster kit). At first I was disappointed they opted to switch out the figure that was originally supposed to come with it, but now I kinda like how it sets off the car.
