...a build from our good friend across the pond Harley! Stay tuned as I have more from him as well. The Phantom Deals Wheels Altered “Here he is folks the safest Fuel Altered driver around, Mild Bill! He gets the best fuel mileage of anyone on the strip, his tyres last for season after season and he’s got a nest of chipmunks in the chute pack ‘cos he’s never used it! The sponsors love him because although he may not win much, the crowds get all the time they need to read the logos!” In the real world it’s a stretched Phony Car frame and engine with a much-modified Mother’s Worry body on top. It’s got scratchbuilt headers, intake and sponsor stickers. And a huge thanks to Don Culley for the driver’s head as that had held the project up for over a year!

Awesome! Loving the creativity; the build; the paint; all of it!
By the way ... same "Harley" that has the swirl-a-delic painted Vette build-up on Tres Wright's "Deal's Wheels" fan site ... or no? (If so ... loving that paint job, too!)
Keep them Deal's projects coming! (Brand new builds, and/or new pics of old builds -- either way!)

You got it, and by the way if you haven't been by my site lately I'm doing repros of all the decals now and can also do custom work. It looks like you may have hand-made the decals for this project, if you do anything like this in the future let me know if you want some decals made up.

All I can say is WOW !!!! That is one sharp build , Harley. I'm glad I could help you out with the driver- he never looked so good . It may have taken a while to finish, (including the 8 weeks that head was lost in the mail ) but it was worth the wait.

Yup, that's my swirladelic Stink Ray too. With a younger version of me at the wheel! Got any other pics, Harley? Send 'em to Tres for his site! I've long been jonesing to see the other sides of that model! That one was a big inspiration to me, paint-job-wise; and still has me thinking. But the "Mild Bill" build-up trumps it, in terms of just plain coolness, I think. ( Wonder what Big Deal would think of it? That one seems like one he should be seeing!?)

That write-up is hilarious! Which one of you Klowns wrote that? Seriously: kudos! Coulda been on the kit's box sides! And the head ... is that from the 57 cHEVY? I'm having a hard time figuring out where that one came from: bits and pieces? The only complaint I have about this build is: no in-progress pics! I love those things; and wish everyone took boatloads!

Glad you liked it. I take full blame for the write up and you're quite right, it was intended to read like the box text for the Super Spurt and Phoney Furd kits. The head is a McLapper item, kindly donated by Don Culley and I'll pull my finger out and get some other Stink Ray shots sorted

Harley, you Kuh-Waaaaazzy Wabbit! That is my kinda (with a sh!t eatin' dog grin on my face) "out there" build". I love them's's that the thinkin' up the idea is as cQQl as the actual build. Great job all 'round! Glad you liked it. I take full blame for the write up and you're quite right, it was intended to read like the box text for the Super Spurt and Phoney Furd kits.
