I've been working on this thing for weeks, finally got it wrapped up today! Not sure how many of you are familiar with this particular Deal's Wheels model, it's the rarest of the rare. More info and pics to follow when I get some more time, but for now here are a couple of pics: Hope you likey

Tres, WOW, that is awesome and looks great!!!! I never knew you got one of those! Did you get it from Dave himself? I knew there were a few prototypes made but, I didn't think they were ever released. I thought they were abandoned for production? Did you get the Porsche too? What a lucky dog. I guess you had to pay some BIG BUCKS for one of those? ?!!!!!!!! Keith

Very cool Tres! I had a similar idea some time ago and even sketched it up from a picture of the Malibu kit. I wanted to convert the body to a '70 Olds since the basic shape is the same. Haven't got to that project yet though. The Judge looks awesome however!
Thanks for sharing. A.J.

Thanks guys!! I'll post some more info probably tomorrow, I'm trying to get some "work" stuff done here at home, bleh!
Keith, don't we wish the Porsche made it past the resin mockup stage!! That would have rocked!!
Steve, the chassis is narrowed, and I didn't notice until now that the left rear wheel slipped on the axle when I took the pics! It should be farther in like the right rear wheel. Man, I can't believe I didn't notice that! I don't ever glue the wheels onto the axles in case I have to disassemble the models in the future for any reason. But those GTO wheels were a loose fit for some reason.

Hey guys, Thanks again for all the compliments! Here's more info and pics as promised: First of all I hope no one minded my little ruse about it being a Deal's Wheels model, I am flattered that it could pass for the "real thing" It is in fact a scratch-build inspired by Jim Johnson's work. If you haven't seen Jim's Roadrunner, I've got it posted on my site: www.treswright.vervehosting.com/Pages/gallery17.htmlHere's a pic: I was so blown away by Jim's effort that I had to try one myself! I've never done anything this involved in plastic before though, so it was a real learning experience. I started with a Zzzzz-28 donor and spliced pieces onto it from a Revell GTO Judge kit. I cut away the Z parts and glued the GTO parts in where I had cut away. Once it was all mocked up it looked like Frankenstein Then there was a lot of filling/ sanding/ filling/ sanding and eventually when the shape was there it transitioned to priming/ sanding/ priming/ sanding until it was acceptably smooth. The paint is Boyd's pearl orange with several clearcoats over it. The side stripes, hood tach face, dash gauges and license plates are all custom decals run on my Alps printer. The rest of the decals were from the Judge donor kit. As far as parts go, the wheels/ tires/ interior pan/ glass/ driver and about 10% of the body (mainly the roof) are Zzzzz-28. The rest of the body is GTO. The chassis is from the Z, but heavily modified to bring the tires in. There's a scratch-built Hurst shifter with T-handle in there too The overall size is identical to similar Deal's Wheels models like the Z and Tirebird. Here are some more pics:

I take it you didn't read page 2 It's a hacked GTO Judge body grafted to a modified Z chassis pretty much. The grille inserts are from the GTO donor kit cut down to fit the narrowed front end.
