It's been a long while since I have posted anything, so here goes nothing..... ;D I needed something to finish, and mostly something to paint before I move on to the next completion. These buggy's were built in a different way.....I picked two great buds that I have shared a lot of good times with, either here, or via the phone. I've known both guys since the CC1, way back in the day, so I went back to 1969, and built two Meyers Manx kits the way I thought "they" would have built them back then for real.....
First up....Ok, you all know this klown, yep it's Timmy Nolan his-self!!! We all know Tim likes flashy, bright colored, really cool things, with lots of chrome, well here before your eyes is my interpretation of the Manx he would have drove....Last up.....Yes sir, that's none other than 'ole Starry Eyes, or our own little drummer boy (retired) Chuck Darnell. My interpretation of the buggy Chuck would have built. Rather subtle, but still cool, and quick with that turbo Corvair bringing up the rear!!!Group shot with the Franklin Mint Manx. They look pretty good together, but the AMT kit has a couple small inaccuracys, the front seats are a little small, and the headlights are a tad big, but hey. Let's see how close these guys think I came.

You are insanely crazy John !! And yes, you hit the nail right on the head .. I could easily see myself cruising in the Manx you chose for me .. and yes it's dead on to what I would build in the back garage with out a doubt .. Oh and as long as it'll outrun Nolan's is another key .. Ha!! Gotcha Timbo !! .. yep.. both you klowns have been a part of my modeling life for as far back as I can recall ... a lot of good people right here for sure... .thanks for including my choice in your build old buddy !! you did a riotous job.. ;D (really diggin' the RatFink on Timbos)

Great idea, nice builds (and nice plates too)! I'll let Timbo speak for himself but I think that's waaay too subdued for him! Surely we should be looking at metalflake with flakes so big you need a quarter inch of clear just to seal them in!

OK..OK... usually I can figure out a vanity plate with no problem.. but the license plate on Timbo's ride has be baffled .. Help an old guy out here !

These are the only two plates I have from Illinois, and Florida, Tim's says "above par".
