Fantastic. Reminds me of the latest Surf Crate to hit the pegs: Not a coincidence. Had it not been that color, I might not of "seen" the lime green Chevelle's potential.

The headers/sidepipes were a puzzle on how to make them... Sure I could have used something else, but what's the fun in that? Nope, I wanted something that was a least close to the Hot wheels design. Not a bad start, if I do say so myself. When I said it was a puzzle, I wasn't kidding! Put those 5 pieces together , sand and carve to shape, you have a "Wave" sidepipe! The grey oval is a Street Cleaner front wheel with the center cut out. The rest is sheet styreen. Inside, the interior uses the Chevelle seats, floorpan and dashboard. All modified to suit. Till next time!

They look really good,
I have seen the same technique used to scratch buid small scale Tanks as well, laminate plastic and carve/sand to shape, there used to be a small scale sander on the market if I recall correctly.

Okay, Here's the latest! I scrapped (Not "scrapped" really, just put aside for a more CARtoonish build) the muliti piece side pipes and went with the flaired pipe from a Revell 1/12 chopper kit. This ment modifying the heck out of one of them since they have a curve that needs to match side to side. I found a nice Ford S.O.H.C. 427 in an AMT Mustang altered kit that was just what the doctor ordered. The headers are from the Hard Hat Hauler, modified of course. Scratched the scoop from Chevelle leftovers and made the grill shell from assorted plastic stock. The fram is a rough copy of the Li'l Stoggy frame more or less, so that what I based the front end on. Even the surfboard is modified with about an inch lobbed out of the middle... Till next time!
