This idea has been bouncing around in my head for a while . I started by doing a little surgery on Rommel's Rod . Next I added a Big Block Chevy for power and some front suspension pieces . Then some more engine goodies , a little more surgery , and a little primer . Started fitting the interior and added some more body work . The new owner looks very pleased ! To be continued . . .

I had a hunch this was leading up to a guy in a red suit... Love what you did with the tracks! Looks to be shy about seven or eight engines (Depending on which version of the reindeer team you want) though...

Exactly, that is the direction and idea to build this kit , which has long been buzzing in my head, so far so good, but I would support Michael's remark, I would also place more engines in that long nose... That's my opinion, the decision is up to you... ;D

This will be ready for Christmas............right Santa. Great concept and build, but the reindeer still need to be fed.

If you had twin blowers. . . it might look like 8 deer pulling the sled!

I played around with multiple engines in different layouts and it just looked too bulky , which is what I didn't like about Rommel's Rod to begin with . So it will be the single engine , maybe with twin blowers . I also had most of the body work finished and ready for paint when I decided to change it again ! I had molded in some thin rectangular headlights on either side and some real thin tailights at the end of the fenders . Then after staring at it for 3 days I decided it was too much and cut it all apart ! I'm in the process of rebuilding the front from scratch , but it WILL be ready for Christmas ! I didn't take any pictures but here's what I had planned . It looked alot worse in person !

Have you ever seen the Pyro "Sno-Skeeter" ?

Yes ! I was looking at one on ebay a year or so ago but didn't like the 1/16 scale . That's actually what gave me the idea for this build . I was originally going to use the Revell T Touring kit but came across a Rommel's Rod in my stash and decided to use it instead . I'm going to do some headlights similar to the Sno-Skeeter but maybe rectangular , it I can find some . Any ideas ?

Awesome start! I did this one a few years back, and used an Allison mill... Paul's 1/20th Grid Iron Grabber suggestion would be in proportion.... For rectangular headlights, check out the Pie Wagon's lights.... they are cool.

Brandon , That is really awesome , I guess I didn't have such an original idea after all ! Thanks for the tip about the Pie Wagon , I have one stashed and will take a look at it . Here's a few photos of where I'm at now . I'm leaning away from something really wild and am going with something a bit more mild looking .

Love it! Great imagination and execution. For some reason I keep seeing the T'Rantula headlights stuck on this one. Keep up the great work Tooold! Tory

That 4 engine version looks like something Brandon would build. I do agree that the sleek single engine build will be tter looking in the end.
