Got it done, and it didn't really put up too much of a fight: I used a lot of thinned out craft paint on the chrome. Had to really grind a lot of meat out of the bottom of the floor boards to make it fit. Then I had to go to town on the topside of the tranny. The paint is all Testors except the base coat of the wooden parts which is Tremclad. I added an aluminum distributor and some wires. There is not much space between the engine and the cowl.

Looks great Dave! Wished I painted the frame red like you did, it looks a lot better in that color.

Yes indeed, very nice. It is amazing how something as simple as painting the chassis red makes such a difference. It takes a rather colorless model and really sets it off. Great job!! mike
