Hi guys and girls,
I saw the rod had a Buick v6 in it (thanks Wayne for the info) so i thought it over the last day's and decided to put the v6 in it i like to make it the same as the original. But where do you get a v6 try to cut of a piece from a v8 but that doesn't look good. Friend of my came by told me he has a model of a Buik with a v6 in it, so we made a trade.
now it,s waiting voor the v6 (comes next week) and check the frame i think i have to make it smaller.
Keep you posted.
Gr Dirk nks

Hi, First of all a great 2013. So now Christmas and new year are over time to build. Last week the Buick model arrived with the six in it, now it's hard to find a engine like this so i planned to make a mold of it so i can make copie's of it from resin. This is the mold i made from silicone rubber. Well this is what you get a nice copy (white) of the original (black). Even the ribs on the valvecover did work great stuff resin. So that's done start building this little rod. I only have to make a new frame the frame i build is to wide So back to the drawing table. Till the next update. Gr Dirk

I know you are going with the six, like Brandon, I to like to add horsepower aka hemi, double blowers, etc. Another V8 option would be the Engine from the Aerovette. If I recall, it's turned sideways. There may be some suspension parts you can use.

Update, Took the resin engine cut off the transmission and cleaned it. Then put it together . The result. Also made the blower smaller i think the original is a 6-71 and i think this six has a 4-71, well this is the result. Made all the holes in the engine and dryfit the distributer and the pulleys. All fit nice now it's time to put some color on this little 6. till next time Gr Dirk

hi there, update, working on the engine and blower. Now i have some real blowerbelts so i want to have some ribbed pulley's Hard to find on this scale so build it myself. first did it from styreen rod like this. Well i did not like it the ribs are to big so think think think ;D Then my eye saw this. A screwdriver. This drivers have ribbed grip, so i cut a piece off and with a mill i made a hole in the middle. And this is how it looks on the blower. And on the engine. I think it looks ok. Gr Dirk

Hello, Thanks for the great response, did do some work on the rod this week. First did the sprkplug cabels. The distributor is made from aluminum. I wanted the cabels to have real boots i,t did worked but is a hell of a job so small (wonder how they make it ). And the result only put some wire looms but thats for later. The Suspension. I want to make the rod as realistic as possible so i ordered real Coil Over Shocks and use the hub from a Corvette. This is the original suspension. This are the parts for the coil over. And the finished product (and it works ). I made the suspension connection from steel rod. ( see the yellow arrows). This are the parts i made and did a dryfit to see if it al fit. And here with the brake disk, now only make the lower control arm (yellow arrow) and some small parts then take it apart and finish the other side and make the front suspension. see you Gr Dirk
