This one came to me from a friend. A real good friend! I wanted one of these since 1965! I just want to clean it up real good. I might try to make some bumpers for it. Its all here except for the surfers! Started cleaning it and the body came off! I felt like Indiana Jones for a minute. Sorry for the poor photo but if one looks through the blurry windshield, one can see a rectangular steering wheel in there. Was that a La Salle feature? I remember seeing an episode of My Classic Car where a car had one of those in it. The builder did a pretty clean job of building it except for the front wheels. The back one was broken off, I will get them all straight somehow. If you look at the engine, he used a yellow engine out of something else and put the Aurora 409 heads ontop of the other heads. Man this thing must have compression galore!

That looks like a great project ! I'm not sure about the steering wheel , but a lot of Chrysler / Dodge / Plymouth cars had them in the late 50's and early 60's . Maybe that is where the idea came from !

What a classic. . . it is cool as it was built! Can't wait to see you rework it!
