I haven't built a model in probably 2 years, but the other day i decided to get this one out and finish it. I think i started building it back in 2010...I don't remember.
It's a re-issue that was molded in gray plastic. I sprayed the roof section and the folded up convertable top in the rear flat black. I sprayed the body gloss black with clear laquer over it.
I thought that the paint job was going to come out horrible, but by the time i got the clear coat on, it came out looking ok.
the interior is flat red, curtains are flat yellow. The engine is dark blue and I added a distributor with plug wires.
I also changed out the hard plastic front tires and slicks for some better vinyl ones.
here it is with my dragula, which is an original issue that i restored and not all of the parts on it are original.
A tony nancy dragster gave up its front axle, radius rods, front wheels, rear mags and all 4 tires.
The moon tank is a parts box piece, the exhaust headers that lead to the organ pipes are some chrome tri-Y headers that I had in my parts box. The valve covers came from my parts box and they say "cobra", rather than "M/T" .
The tombstone is scratch built and I made the decal for it. I also made some white candles with a flame on each one to the inside of the headlights.
The engine is painted gloss purple, and the seat is painted flat purple. The chassis and body are painted with testors aztec gold laquer, with clear over it. I detailed all of the scroll work on the body with a different color gold to make it stand out slightly. I made a radiator for it, and added disk brakes to the rear axle.
I also made it so the body can be removed easily.
