A few months ago I entered this car into the cartoon cars contest, I had fun and put the car onto the shelf to sit, however a few weeks ago I came home to find the wagon had been destroyed after falling off a shelf. The car was destroyed so I decided to restore the car completely, instead of using paint I used military weathering pastels and an assortment of chalks that I got at various hobby shops, so far I have done quite well and made some progress and the car is now out of primer and about to be painted, the wood has since been weathered and after these photos were taken I toned down the darker areas. the original

Keep diggin' away. The flat paints and chalks will make for a neat build

Update, I toned down the roof, weathered the body, and chromed the "metal" parts, I have since attached the smoke stack top, and added some parts to the shelf. Only after these pics were taken I discovered the mark left on the valve cover, some of the pastel wiped off onto the chrome part and after an easy wipe down with a cloth I was able to remove it entirely.

some new progress, I'm starting to attach some chrome parts, and the accessories instead of the lantern on the back I attached the bowl and put the lantern on the shelf I put some ground up dirt and sand in the bowl to replicate grains
