A quick update on the Munster's Koach. The chassis is in primer, waiting for a topcoat of gloss red. The engine halves are glued together ( ) and painted, engine just needs building now. The dash has been smoothed ready for a photoetch digital dash. These pics show roughly how the car will sit, as long as the wheels fit under the arches.

Why not move the fenders up? The fronts should be easy and un-noticable without a "stocker" to compair to. The rear is easier still, although the door shape is a question to answer somehow. Don't raise the body, if anything, hunker it down as much as you can, give it some rake and fenders be dam'ed! ;D

Thanks for the cool photoshop job there! You are the second person to say slam it today, so I guess that's the way to go. Now let me get my razor saw out......

So I chopped the front fenders off, chopped a bit more off them at the pencil mark, and glued them back on a bit higher than they were originally. It may not be clear in the pic, but it does sit a lot better now.

you still need to do something to get the body to sit further down over the frame, especially in the front. The frame should not be visible below the bottom edge of the body in my opinion.

I have seen something similar....a modernised Koach, They used a modern engine though, (I think something from a Modern Ford Mustang, big block based), The rear is easier than the front, (a free 'floating' cover over the rear wheels, a wider, type hugging the wheel, so it looks like it doesn't have one). Like this on Andromeda www.nick-butler.co.uk/andromeda.htmlAt the front more difficult to retain the character of the Koach, I seem to remember a thinned down setup, narrower bar with the headers cut into it, 'channeled' body at the front, lots of 'alluminum' . The 'refurbished' #2 Koach has a much bigger engine now replacing the Cobra.. www.advancedrestorations.com/

Made some more progress yesterday. The chassis is now done, with a prop shaft made from aluminium tube. The engine is as done as it will be and in the chassis. I have also channelled the body over the chassis and put a new floor in it. Dropping the body over the chassis meant I had to trim the body a bit more to clear the headers, but it's sitting where it should now.

I have made some progress with this build recently. The body has been painted a black pearl finish, with some clear, but I am not too happy with it, so it may get rubbed back for some more colour. I have also installed the in car entertanment system for the kids, which came from AMT's Rides '49 Merc.

I like the direction you're going here. I love the new fenders. Now that you have it channeled might I suggest a top chop?
