Well, this is something a little different which I built...a model car that is also a guitar amplifier!!! This one started off life as an 'Eye Gone Wild' before becoming home to an amplifier circuit which I soldered together in my hobby time. You plug your guitar (or mp3 player) into the grill, turn up the gain and volume and rock and roll! It features power on indicator headlamps and runs off a 9v battery inside the car or a wall adapter. Sounds actually not half bad, pretty loud! Hope you like the pics!

Just thought I'd add this pic of the mini-amp with his box-stock-buddy I actually get quite a bit of use out of this...sounds great with an mp3 player. Haven't posted in a while...I live in Canada, here winters are brutal. But models makes them fly by! Almost can't wait for summer to end

That's as cool as a cold beer. Which is about ultimately cool. Adding the "power on headlights" is just the proverbial icing on the cake that makes this project perfect.

Dude! What an awesome idea. Man that is cool! OK, where is my electronic box? This would be a great idea for one of those kits that make you say, "Why did I buy this one" Not that the flying eyeball is one of those.

This would be a great idea for one of those kits that make you say, "Why did I buy this one" Not that the flying eyeball is one of those. Hi Bert, thanks. Haha, yeah Eye Gone Wild was not a 'why did I buy this one' kit. It is a way awesome (though uber basic) kit, we've already seen a few wild takes on it. I will say this as well: this project was inspired by the model itself, not the other way around. This thing is essentially a cigar-box-amp, souped up hot rod style. A buddy who is an electronics hobbyist was making cigar-box amps in clever casings of his own. He came over with one, I was finishing up a box-stock Eye Gone Wild, and that's when I said I bet I could jam an amp into this toy car. He said, 'I'd like to see that' and kindly provided me an amp kit he assembled. It took a year but I did it Cheers Blake

I'm working on an Eye Gone Wild myself. I hope to improve on some of the simplicity of the kit. The cool factor is way up there for me as well. I plan on looking into this cigar box amp stuff.
