I have the movie, and the Corvette used in the film was a '58 with the louvered hood, not a '60. It also sported yellow stripes, and yellow flames in the coves, along with Radir wheels w/pie crust slicks in the rear. In the movie it sounds like the car used ran a hopped up inline six, instead of a V8.

There's lots of reference material on the Inter-web, and in my honest opinion, you kinda missed the mark on this one.
