I found a Deal Wheels 57 Chevy in a box of parts , most of it was missing and lots of glue damage . I used part of the chassis for my Car-toon Corvette gasser , leaving me just the body , interior panel and the figure. I remembered the Jim Croce song ( Rapid Roy that stock car boy ) ,And had an Idea .Just getting a start on it,glued a couple of old slicks together for the rear tires .Not sure what all I'm going to do to it ,but I will try to add all the little details from the song.

Cool idea !! - those are the kind of cars that were running around the track when 'Rapid Roy' was playing on my sisters phonograph ! If you're going to go with the Deal's Wheels driver, the Humbug and Mclapper drivers have helmets

He has to have arms for the "Cigs" rolled up in his T-shirt and don't forget the tattoos Baby and Hey. or the tooth pick. He might have to stand outside the car.

The Mclapper and Humbug drivers have tops to their bodies, including arms. It would take a little work, but you could make the arms bare and have rolled up sleeves on him if you just have him in the drivers seat. Chuck had made some of the bodies in resin like the one I used in my 49 Ferd , if he still has one you could work with that. Someone else on this site cut a Mclappers driver's face out of the helmet and grafted a zzz28 driver in it, so you could pick any of the Deal's drivers to use. Just a couple of ideas ! Keep us posted on your progress , I'm looking forward to the results !

...He's always got an extra pack of cigarettes rolled up in his T-shirt sleeve. He's got a tattoo on his arm that says Baby, he's got another one that just says Hey, but every Sunday afternoon he is the dirt track demon in a 57 Chevrolet... I hope I didn't ruin any secrets for the build, this one just got me singing. A fantastic idea for a build!

That looks great. The bumpers and holes in he hood are real "period" pieces . I think Dave Deal would have wished he thought of it !
