Okay, so having recently gotten back into the custom culture (head first!) I've noticed, I have several kits, cars and cycles, that have narrow, spoked wheels out front. Well...they're all crap! I need a good source for these wire wheels. I would prefer turned metal rims and wire spokes, but a good set of cast wheels will do just as well. I know one of you guys has to have the hookup, let me in on it.

How about machined aluminum with stainless spokes ? I bought a couple sets a few months ago and they are really nice . His website says they aren't available but if you email him he can have a set made , I think he just doesn't want to stock them . They are made by Micro Nitro but I never get any response from them . They are expensive at $40 a pair , no tires included ! www.tedsmodelingmarketplace.com/spoked-front-wire-wheel-set-1-25/

Wowzers! THAT is not in my budget. Time for a new plan. What kit would you say has the nicest wire wheels?

Have you checked out Herb Deeks photo etched wire wheels. They were available directly from him on eBay. There was two types. Not sure if he still has any. I might have his eBay info if you're interested. I just have to look for it.

They are nice indeed. One of the most realistic sets for this scale.

Don't forget Machined Aluminum Specialties wires, they are a little nicer than the Deeks set mainly because they polish up a little better than the white metal...As far as the Herb Deek's wheels, I used a set on my Digger Cuda seen hear as they come....Again, hears another set on my Tommy Ivo dragster, only modified by removing the inner lip on the rims giving them a more realistic look....

Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland also has some really nice wire wheels with tires (bicycle style). Those are very nice but the resin rims have to be plated (or "chromed" using Alclad II chrome).
