okie doke folks...as i mentioned way long ago(or was that this morning) i'm startin this new project that has been inspired by lurking here for a couple weeks before joining. i know i've the skill to pull this off, tis the patience i'm questioning my project will have the stance of something like the little red baron and such, the driver will be something roth-esque, and it will have the type of attention to detail you'd find in a trosley drawing first the stance yes thats a TD vette and even tho it's in waaaaay sad shape i still cant bring myself to hack it up...yet. so ima practice on this and i hacked up the roof like this so far and started to put it back together since my stance will be akin to this i'm thinking i need to also make cuts similar to these black triangles and i wish to hear opinions/comments/suggestions on this also, here's what i've scratched-up for rolling stock so far in my mind(where ima legend ) it's a pie-crust slick in the works...opinions?? and lastly this pony may go under the knife instead of the vette thanks for looking Read more: car-toons.proboards.com/thread/442/knarf-toon#ixzz2ergS0fGy

okies...here's a few more progress pix; got the roof pieced back together i cut this much out of the door plus one more like piece that took flight and after i glued everthing back together i had this and that's pretty much what i had in mind and now to try and remember those measurements for the other side and see if i can find the rest of the front clip.

howdy y'all. i know i said primer and paint would be next but i decided to do the front clip for this as well in just in case i ever do finish this "practice" build. what i would really like is for y'all to weigh in with some opinions plz. i think the front clip needs to be extended just a wee bit(maybe 1/8-1/4 inch or so) what do y'all think??

"dive and do it approach"...i like that, it's spot on! i will admit that i did ponder on this for months before diving tho, and the putty sanding thing...yeah seems to go hand in hand with this approach, good thing i buy my putty this size got it at autozone for like $25 and been usin it for like almost 2yrs.

ok peeps..started hackin on the front clip. this first piece already had a nice line to the top that blended well for the final shape, so i glued it on and this is more or less the engine i'll be using, came from some plastic kids toy i believe and as you can see there won't be much hood left

Y'know what they say Knarf, it isn't really the size of your tube of putty that counts, lol

alrighty...it's update time again. spent a "minute" fillin in the hole where the hood needed to be although i'm not sure why cuz it'll be 95% gone when i cut for the engine now we need a chassis plate...this should work it's the top from an old dvd player and all my glues work on it i cut it too size me thinks i-spy a problem a few cuts not quite thru and problem solved and since i wasn't happy with the original "supercharger" i scratched up a new one. and since i lost the air scoop B-|already i found a better one and here's the current mock-up justin case anyone's interested. oh yeah...mage a bigger, wider and better shaped tire for the back

Geez, .. ?Hmmm ---Very nice work so far Knarf. --I don't think I've ever seen anything Quite Like this "Scratch-Built"! There must be some "!MadNess!" to your Method !! .......... OK, I'm watching .... btw, liked the "pie-crust" and your "quote" ----- ""in my mind-(where ima legend"") !! !! ~! -AL

thanx al the rear tires will still be "pie-crust" just bigger, wider and better shaped. that first one was just practice and i'm thinkin of making it into a drill bit holder also just in case anyone's curious, i've decided on a paint scheme(think nascar) and my driver...the only issue is finding the driver cuz you know "legends" don't come cheap not even when they're recreated in plastic and i just don't trust my caricature carving skills at all. not one darn bit and unfortunately i do have to set this one aside for a "minute" as i've 3 contest wips and 2 commissioned wips on the bench plus this one. dammit this grown-up sense of priority and responsibility oh and al...thanks for the "smiley" lesson, i can use more of them properly now

This is coming along awesome...Go Knarf!
Is that pulley from a bic lighter? I think yes...very clever.
My two cents for front wheels is definitely the smaller ones in the bottom photo.
Cheers -Blake
