I was right in the middle of my Stingrod build when I saw a picture that inspired me to start another build . I had two Meyers Manx kits still unbuilt so what the heck ! Here's my inspiration . . . And after about 3 weeks here's where I'm at . I modified the front and rear suspension to lower the ride height about 1/8th inch and added working steering . Along with the 4 - wheel disc brakes I made a custom pedal assembly with dual master cylinders to provide stopping power . Here's the body in primer with side pods and a custom rail around the rear . I also filed down the thickness of the windshield . And finally , a custom roll cage , seats , and wheels & tires . I'm not a fan of giant rims with rubber band tires so I'm going with more modest sizes . I started painting yesterday so I should have some more photos soon . I hope you like it !

How would you like to see real pictures of this one? I've seen it about 3 or 4 times in person. The last time was in September at Pittsburgh Raceway. It is quite wild at that! You aren't seeing the wheelie bars that are about as long as the body...ha ha! Really balances it out. Actually rather than look at mine, just check out the builder's page Builder's page for the Wild Manx

Thanks AJ and John ! I've never seen those photos before . I'm definitely not going that wild with this build so I think I should change the name to "Mild Manx" . What do you think ?

Thanks Don ! I've got some paint on the body . . . much darker than I had planned but I'm gonna go with it , kind of "classy" ! Been working on the engine and chassis for a few days . Lots of scratch built goodies on the engine . . . the carbs are from my parts box and the distributor is from MAD . I'm gonna make some air cleaners and headers next ! And here's the chassis . The red is kinda bright but it's done now !

Thank you very much guys ! I've been able to spend a lot of time at my bench this week , but I'll be busy again next week so I doubt it will be finished until Thanksgiving ! Unless I get something done this weekend these will be my last photos for a while . The completed engine , and a group shot waiting for assembly . Thanks again for looking .

Thanks Dennis and Michael ! I managed to squeeze in a couple of hours last night and got the engine installed . I added clutch , throttle , and brake cables , along with the fuel line and halfshafts . It's fun to do even if it will never be seen again ! My next post should be in the "Completed" section . . . see you there !

Geez Bob, ... I must say; The level of detail, and nice work that's been accomplished on the chassis looks so good, I think it would be a shame to cover it with the body !! ........ I mean, I think i'd rather see this than the completed model !! -Perhaps you could make the body "removable" ---just a "suggestion" ........... !Car-Porn!!! ---I Love IT !!! .......... he-he, .... -AL

Man that looks fantastic Bob!!! I think some HOK Trublue pearl would have been the perfect blue for this ( www.blackgoldweb.com ) I gotta ask, did you use chassis parts from a Tamiya VW?

Fantastic work Bob' I can't wait to see the body. Thanks Dennis ! The body is painted the same Royal Blue which is a lot darker than what I originally planned , I had some left over from another build and decided to try it . It's okay but I think I'll end up repainting it in the future . Anyway , it's all finished now and I'll be taking some photos tomorrow to share with you guys .
