"Passin Gas" Wheelstander (Beer Wagon)

I finally finished the Beer Wagon (BW). I used as many BW parts as possible to stick with the design. I closed the side and top openings in the hood, or bonnet, for you across the pond fellas. I also removed the side BW panels to make it all chains. Since the BW doesn't have a complete engine, I used one from the Piranha drag car (392 Hemi). I built the transfer case changing it from the chain drive to a conventional set up. The rear end came from the parts box. The roll cage is built from styrene rod. The rear wheel wheels and tires are from the Two Much dragster. The decals are from Firebird Designs (Ebay). I wanted some decals for the top of the hood and fenders, but I didn't have anything that would fit or match the paint. I originally planned to use some NASCAR Apple Jacks decals since it reminds me of a box of apple Jacks cereal. I couldn't find any. The only chrome on the build is in the center of the steering. The pics aren't great, I may re-do them later, but you'll get the idea.

Well Shoot, I forgot the chute! Not really, back in the heyday of wheelstanders most did not use a chute. Today modern wheelstanders have to run one due to rules, regulations, and sanctioning bodies. When they are wheels up and back on the skids they are kind of going down the track on the brakes. Plus when it's in the air you steer it with the rear brakes. With the types of wrecks they usually have, I don't see where it would help much.

Russ they are from the Two Much Dragster kit. If I remember correctly they are two piece tires and I had to putty around the inserts (back side of the tire) to make them look right. I have a home made jig for my drill so I chucked them in the drill and filed the tread area and the square edges.

That's perfect. The stance works, the rear wheels are spot on for an early wheel stander, and injection never stumbles during launches... Awesome.
