Aurora did this with a number of kits Chuck. I think they took cues from some top show cars of the time and spun them into models. The T For Two is another. Although somewhat crude, they do have tons of character. I'll be looking forward to seeing your build.

I think it's great that you take the time to restore these kits ! I think most people ignore them , but I remember buying them at the corner drug store and hurrying home to build a complete disaster ! Good times .

I worked a little more last night on this project so I'll be posting a picture or two of the progress ..

That's a pretty cool little coupe Chuck, if anybody can do it justice, you can!!!
Oh, and I feel pretty fortunate to have had the extra cash when the DM deuce first came out, 'cause they are super hard to find, and pricey if you do.Here's a pic of the car without the blower like the little kit depicts....

Wow, as I recall the hardest part about these little Aurora kits was making the ill fitting multi-piece bodies look decent - can't even see your seam-lines!

Long ago I built a Lindberg 1/25 1932 Ford Pickup using that grille/grille surround, doesn't look that bad, does it?

That has been one of my favorite cars ever since I saw it on the Beach Boys album cover.
Like other comments here I built a lot of the Aurora 1/32 kits and I still have a few unbuilt. I also dug the Monogram "49ers". $0.49 for model kit!! Ahhh. the good ol' days.
Looks like you are off to a great start!!

I'm going to see if I can assemble this by today's standards vs "back in the day" with lots of glue prints..lol..

Chuck you can add Dave Stuckey's 32 that later became the Lil Coffin to the list of real subject Aurora 1/32 kits as well, its the '32 Skidoo. If you need any other references on these I don't think I am missing any.

You're doing a great restoration work, Chuck, looks a lot better! Here is a very old photo from my "archives" ... ... either there were several of these cars, or it was rebuilt several times and different painted... ... on each photo, it looks different... ... look at the old graphics, the engine and the rims...

Wow thanks for all the reference material.. I'll look into reproducing some of the old graphics once the paint work begins .. I have to keep in mind that I'm working in a smaller than normal (for me) scale so taping this off might be a good challenge to myself .. however I want good, clean lines where the paint colors separate .. time will tell ! .. Also I do have '32 Skidoo aka "chili pepper".. I pretty much have the entire kit run with the exception of one kit (Spyder) which I hope to score soon .. again thanks for pics and link on the Blue Coupe .. you guys are awesome .

Looks like I need to get out my magic wand and wave it around while doing my Indian war hoops ( yes part Indian) to see if I can conjure up some carbs vs. the tiny cheezy injector tubes.

Chuck, I think the Monogram 32 roadster in 1/32 has a tri carb setup that looks like it would work, you'd need to make a duplicate and scratch build the manifold.
