My 1:1 Scale Model

I bought this model earlier this year at a contest. It was built and very weathered. It must have been in Mr Coggins scrap yard. I will restore it as best as I can even though it's missing 4 parts. All chrome and brass parts must be replated. Aurora did have the best Brass plating. I stripped the parts with Purple Power ad Super Clean. Hopefully, like Caractacus Potts, I can turn this into a motorcar someday.

He's right, no pic. Now you just happened to have stumbled upon my second favorite car in the world! I have two of them, unassembled and complete. I know a lot of guys like to add this and delete that, but if you have need of a part or two cast up feel free to let me know, or if you need any reference materials. I've studied this car almost as much as I have the Batmobile. Just let me know. (P.S. I don't intend to hijack your thread, but if you want to see it I have a killer process for painting the boat section.

Will do! Can't wait to see this one get going. P.S. Apologies if I offended anyone by offering to do so here. That was not my intent.

As for plating, should you use a plating company like Chrometech, and want to save a few pennies, plate everything chrome and add Tamiya clear yellow to the brass parts. Then again, with an age old beauty like this you may want to go full bore with both plates. P.S. I also hope you can do something about those god-awful louvres!

Alclad is great stuff, but it can be real touchy to work with. I say if the O.P. has experience with it theat would be the way to go.

I just watched the movie a few days before christmas, and fell in love with that car... Would love to have the model, but I know its next to impossible to find. It will be exciting to follow this build/restoration

So, do you need the instruction sheet? That's one of my favorite kits too. We'll never see it from Revell, but I wish somebody would cast one up in Resin!
