This was way fun . I spent way more time on this than I normally would for this kind of build, but it was well worth it, and I love how it turned out I built this as a beach buggy or "Surf Rod". I used 1/24 '29 pickup fenders, and wedged the look of the body towards the front, and cut the doors out, hinged them, and used magnets to close the doors, and it's cool to hear them "Snap" when the doors shut. I did a lot of cutting up of interior pieces, including building a new front seat using parts from a second kit, and building believable door panels. Also I removed the roof and built cross-bars for an open "Beach" look, and had a ball decorating the surf boards with decals from my stash, and I added a rear window from a "prowler kit, and the trunk I added on the backside I highly detailed, and is the gas tank for the car. The front grill and headlight assembly was modified too. The colors are tangerine flake and white pearl. DEFINETLY a fun build.

Oh Yeah , I'm glad you posted this one here as it's one of my favorites and the extra amount of time you spent was well worth it . How often is a TJ Taxi called beautiful ? Never . . . until now . Beautiful work Dave !

It's been a while since I've logged in but I'm glad I did today. Just adding fenders really gave the Tijuana Taxi body the twist it needed to take it to a new level. I really like what you did with it. This is reflective of what I was doing with the Uncertain T body and wanting to extend and add fenders. I love it. Nice work.

This looks superb. Brings a tear to the eye when you think of all the neat early street rods that had the same design elements. I HAD to save a pic just to show my friends here. These are older rodders who are lamenting the lack of purely built for fun real cars these days. Fortunately for us we all build this kind of thing in the real world its what brought us together as friends..
