Tire Nuts!I am going to Bolt the Dodger down on a Base. I started by cutting out two pieces of thick plastic and drilled two Holes in each. Then I glued the Bolts in the Holes. These pieces will fit inside the tires so I can attach them to the Base. This should flatten the bottoms of the Tires when Bolted down, to like there is some of weight on them. I put a drop of paint on each Bolt and marked the Hole Positions. Next I opened up the Holes with an X-Acto Knife. Then I pushed the Bolts through the Holes and attached the Bolts temporarily. More Coming...

Vented Wheels!I am using the Wheels from the Indy Corvette for inner Wheels on the Dodger. After removing the chrome, I sprayed them Silver and added a Black Wash. Then I drilled a hole in the center of each Wheel. Here is the Before & After Photo. Here are the Wheels & Tires for the Dodger! More Coming...

If I would a tendency toward hero worship, I'd spend hours groveling in the dirt before you. Seriously: Your work always leaves me flabbergasted. You are full of creativity and then there's your skill and craftsmanship that brings your ideas to life.

Plastic Axle!I made an Axle from plastic tubing. One long tube that goes through the Gyro Box and two larger - shorter ones, one on each side. I cut the end off two Ball Point Pens to make two larger Axle Sections that fit over the first two. The fit right in the centers of the Indy Vette Wheels. Here are the Wheels glued to the Axle. More Coming...

Up On Two Wheels!I am using a "Burner Cover" from a stove for a Base. The Lid to a Metal Tin Box would work well too. I marked the spots for the Drilling Holes and then drilled holes for the Tire Bolts. Next I bolted the Tire Bolts to the Base. Here is the Dodger on the Base! Rear View... More Coming...

"Enjoying" doesn't even begin to describe it. By the way, during a convention this last weekend I mentioned this particular radical re-build to two fellow car enthusiasts and had great fun watching their jaws drop gradually with every step I mentioned.

Dirty Base!I wanted to add some Texture and Color to the Base. I started with 2 Wrinkled Paper Towels and White Glue. Next I brushed White Glue all over the Base. Then I spread the paper towels out across the Base and wrapped the excess inside the Base. First I sprayed the Base with a Light Brown. Then I sprayed over the Brown with Floquil "Dirt" Paint. The Dirt Paint is Clear with Multi-Color Dirt Specks. After it dried I sprayed it with Dullcote. Here is a close up of the Dirty Base. More Coming...

Vallejo paints are great. Oh, and the paintjob's not too shabby, either. (I think I may have to get some of these figures - Must check if Hobbysearch carries them)

Solar & Flames!I found a Revell Honda Hood Decal that looks like it would make a Great Solar Panel. Here is the Hood Decal Cut to fit and applied to the area I scribed earlier. The Flames are from the Revell 32 Ford Kit. I also added a R to a DODGE Decal to make it a DODGER Decal! More Coming...
