I was watching the most recent episode of Mad Fabricators' Society on Motornation.tv, and was intrigued by a "Hawaiian Style" deuce roadster. It gave me the itch to build a fendered, heavily-channelled show rod along the lines of the Lil' Coffin, and the recently re-issued AMT '32 Ford Victoria seemed like the PERFECT candidate. I modified the interior tub to allow the body to settle over the frame rails - WAY over the frame rails - and then set about modifying the front fenders: The new, sportier wing-shaped front mud guards are complimented by the kit-sourced "custom" fenders, which I mounted a little higher on the rear quarters than the instructions indicate: Looks like an early SBC with Hilborn injection is finding it's way over from the Monogram Slingster.

A little further along. Still no motor mounts, so the engine is just hanging in the chassis. Started the section on the grille shell, added a recessed firewall for distributor clearance. Front axle from a Lindberg dirt modified. Ride height is about right for a '60s rod. I think the frame horns will be removed to make room for the headlights.

The wheels and front tires are Pegasus' Sovereign wheelset, but I swapped out the rears for slicks from Monogram's Slingster. Since the photos were taken, I've added whitewalls to the slicks.

Right now it's a pulp-era amphibious flying wing, which I may follow up with a steampunk ornithopter.
