Very disappointing that of all the people who glanced at this thread, not one of you asked about photos from NNL East or asked about my 'Hippie Flower Car' FYI...there were over 1500 models on display plus several dioramas, including lots of show rods and show cars. There were also several different show rods and show cars for sale in the vendors area. My friend bought a mint sealed Futurista for $40 and that wasn't his best buy, but I'll leave you to think about what you missed Enjoy the hobby I was going to ask. Any more pics?

Howard, I thank you for your participation in keeping showrods alive. Yes this board has changed from when we had the old CC board to present. Just like the times have changed. Now with the internet and development of social media boards, I have seen countless folders of NNL coverage , so that's probably in play here for a lot of us. Now remember showrods hey day was when we all grew up. There are hardly any new show rod designs and kits produced. Mainly re-releases of the ones back in the day.
Now couple that fact with the fact that many of us wanted to rekindle those memories with rebuilding them starting about 20 years ago. Now "WE" are getting up in age, our eyes go bad, health issues and unsteadiness has started to creep onto us, thus frustrating enough to throw in the towel. A lot of the veterans here still do excellent work and build quite frequently, but I think the core of the group occasionally build and check out the threads , but with less gusto as we once did.

Not only that, but with all the reissues coming out, you don't see rare kits posted anymore . When I first joined up it was because of my re interest in the Street Fighter kit . I saw a few posted builds of it and signed up. I found an old build up on Ebay and several guys on this site helped me out with some of the parts to restore it. Now you cant give the kit away- there are so many of the reissued kits online . Remember the Dragon Wagon and Tijuana Taxis ? They were once Holy Grails here, and when someone built one it always had a wow factor to it. I restored both kits from old gluebombs; the DW took me over a year to build from donations and fabricating parts. Now an original build up wont bring in $10.00 . Its nice all the repops have been coming out, but now that they are available, Its not a surprise to see them anymore. .
