...and collecting boxes upon boxes of unbuilts I've finally been bitten by the Rod-bug again. So I spent two afternoons in the garden (hey, it's summer) and it's looking like I'll be finishing something soon. (I know it's not up to par to the standard most of you guys have established for yourselves, but right now I'm just unspeakably happy)

Does this mean you'll expect more pix? Note to self: Remember to take the camera to the garden.

Beautiful weather today and the work I came for was actually already done for me by a friend. So on and off I had a few hours to spend today... Still a lot to do with finer brushes but I am getting things done.

Will get back to building it as the weather allows. Right now it's a bit like rainy season. I'm hoping for the proverbial Golden October.

Just so nobody can say I'm all promises and no action: These are the last parts with larger surfaces. Nice weather today so I got them done. Then I wrapped up everything and took it home for the repairs, finer lines, some detailing, varnishing and the part I dread most: Final assembly. As you can see, the orange paint isn't in really good shape anymore - There's a gigantic lump of pure acryling at the bottom of the bottle that I simply can't get to dissolve anymore so there's gonna be some work to be done with a sanding sponge.
