While in the movie Luigi was an Italian this incarnation actually makes him a Russian (explanations to follow, please bear with me)... It's a snap-kit made by Russian manufacturer ZVEZDA. Scale is 1/43 (What is that? Matchbox/Hot Wheels/Johny Lightning scale?) It's built straight from the box, I didn't use the stickers, instead it's fully painted. I also refrained from puttying the seams. At this scale I didn't think it shows much when it's on display. He and his "colleagues" as well as some PLANES have been available for next-to-nothing money during last year's INTERMODELLBAU in Dortmund, Germany. I was always somewhat in love with the FIAT 500 (especially since it's Lupin III's favorite car). The designers put quite a bit of engineering into this kit, actually making the claim "my first model kit" true. As you can see there's an extra element to be inserted which holds the sides, front, rear and roof in place. The kit went together like a charm. It's not a toy, the wheels are fixed on their joints. These kits also come with a "character card" which is needed if you want to play a kind of board game featuring the CARS cars. So should you run into these somewhere and know of a little boy or girl who needs to infested with the kitting virus, these might be something to get them started. I spent two pleasant evenings hand painting it, but of course the body could have been sprayed using either an airbrush or a rattle can.

that is a cool little kit. I like that you hand painted it. I'll have to keep an eye out for one or two.
