As you guys know I usually work on three cars at a time to allow glue to dry and ideas and solutions to flow... With the Ice Cream Rod and Fast Trash on the burners, I needed another project. Obviously I have plenty in progress that could use some attention, but these two parts keep floating around the boneyard. I was hoping to find a home for the Trantula front on something cool, but nothing ever clicked. I used the Undertaker chassis on my drag snow mobile, and the little body has been floating around ever since. I decided to combine them, and since they seemed to be the least useable components I owned, I put them together in the least likely arrangement with the front now being the rear. Hence the "Pollywog" was born. (A pollywog is another name for a tadpole.) I also shortened the wonky roof, and am working on a 60's-style front end treatment. I dig it... and I don't know what kind of plastic the Undertaker was molded in, but it's crap and doesn't "melt" very well. It's hard as a rock... I don't like it. Mock up with a little front end work: Suspension dialed in and a little preliminary bodywork: It's funky... I like it.

The plastic used to make the undertaker is ABS plastic and your right, it sucks. I have one sitting in primer for about a year now.

I found on my build it needed Dupli Color etching primer to get the paint to adhere to the plastic. Never thought it was ABS. Tamiya has or is coming out with an ABS Primer too. Paul

Made some decent progress on the Polywog... I did a little bodywork and shot a coat of primer to see where things stand... so far not bad. I also dialed int he wheels and tires, and most of the blown Hemi.. still have some things to do on that. I also made some taillights from four '55 Chevy lenses and a piece of chrome tree sprue. Lastly, I wasn't wanting to run rear trailing arms, but decided it needed them. I like it.

Getting close! I found a Lime Ice paint that was exactly what I had in my mind... it's a lacquer, and I'm an enamel kind of guy, but it works. Final assembly and detailing to follow. An interior shot. I kept things simple with a bracket for the steering column and a brake pedal. The dash is painted green and is in detailing at the moment. Should go together nicely. I am excited.

That color suits it to a T. Is it a Testors color? Paul
