I'd say this isn't exactly a "new" build, as it was built for our Tom Daniel Contest a while back. However, I ran out of time and wasn't able to finish the bike and trailer. I decided to dust it off and finish the project.
The Red Baron II is a blend of a Red Baron and a Cherry Bomb. I noticed the helmet almost fit the opening, and I wondered what a "newer" version of the Red Baron might look like. The little radiator is from a Bugatti and I added another scoop to the engine. The rear canteen frame portion fit the body with a little filing, as did the Red Baron interior.
Turning to the bike, I removed two cylinders and paired it with a portion of the Harley transmission. I also narrowed a canteen for the gas tank and added a helmet spike to the sissy bar. The Cherry Bomb was a hammered glue bomb, and the bike was toast. I ended up using a dragster front wheel and a Bugatti rear and had to wrap the forks and bars in bare metal foil. I might go back and fiddle with the seat fitment, I think I can get it to sit flush, but overall, I am happy I was able to finally see the project through.
