I was looking at this kit deciding if I should build it next. And I could not believe it the next day I heard that Bill "Maverick" Golden had passed away. So I had to build it. I decided to use the older style artwork as I love the big word DODGE. Basically stock except for the fuel line, parachute rope and parachute release cable. I am not big on putting on decals so this was a big job for me cut them out so I had less clear decal that was fun. Over all I am happy with it not a show stopper but I build for my relaxation.    |

This truck was my introduction to the drag strip as a kid. A favorite. Nice job! FYI John, this truck is on the 275 Showrod list. It can be posted in the Showrod section (Projects: Completed Showrods).

Thanks for the compliments guys. I did not know that it was on the 275 Showrod list. I forgot to check the list it was on my list of to dos. I wonder if a moderator can move it? .... Over all I am happy with it not a show stopper but I build for my relaxation. This, I think is the most important thing. When we stop building for ourselves to a level that makes us happy, we are not having fun. Some people find enjoyment in detailing everything to the max, and some, myself included, just like a clean build without too much fuss. Hobbies should be for YOU. Again, great job. |

Hemi Bill “Maverick” Golden, whose Little Red Wagon Dodge A-100 truck launched the wheelstander craze, died Sept. 14 2015. He was 81.
