Thanks Todd ! And thank you Don for finding this one ! It's definitely an oddball color for any Tom Daniel model , I can't think of any reason to have molded it in that color ! I'll have to ask around a bit and see if anybody knows about it . I don't think I've seen an orange Boss Mustang before either , but I'm sure they exist . There are many odd ball colored kits and the consensus is right in that it occurred during the oil embargo. Monogram was using up plastic on their kits during '73 and '74 from what I've acquired in my collection. I've seen the odd drab green on mostly snap tite kits. Both in the earlier for Snap Dragons as well as the snap tite funny cars. Orange is a color that wasn't used a ton but managed to find it's way onto some glue kits that had standard colors. Off the top of my head, I've seen the Thunderbug and Boss Mustang in orange but not the Hemi Semi or Street Cleaner. Other notable models molded in orange are the Trick T (although some thought it was confused with the Stinger), Bad Medicine, and even a Pie Wagon which seems to be somewhat rarer than other alternate colored kits. Very cool stuff all the same and I'd love to see the Thunderbug brought back as well as the Muscle Bug or Smug Bug!
