Does anyone know of a source for wheels and tires for these kits?

What wheels are you looking for ? There are different wheels and tires for certain kits. If you are looking for the plain "Good Boot" tires , Ebay would probably be your best bet. You can usually pick up an old ZZZ28 build up pretty cheap , and with the other reissued kits flooding the site, you could get other old build ups for a good price too. The cars that have the Bunny tires may go for a little more .

There are two different tread designs on the Bug Bomb ; the earlier has straight line treads and the other tires are the same ones they used on the Stink Ray , Tirebird, ZZZ28 etc. The rims I believe were only used on the Bug Bomb , but the rims from other Deals' cars will work . If you're not looking to be 100% original, I'd pick up an old built one of the cars I mentioned and use them for parts early design tread later tread

Thanks for the info. My car is one that I have owned since new 1970.Over the years many of the parts have been lost?I would like to put it back original. Another question. Were these bodys meant to be painted ?.

Well, they were meant to be built by us kids, and a lot of us either didn't have access to paint, or just built them in one day with no time to paint them, so having them mold the plastic in colors was a good idea on the model companies part. If one kit in the series came out "cool" looking, you might just go by another ! I had to paint mine as they were gluebombs and the original plastic was too messed up to save. I've learned here on this site that there's no right answer on how a kit should be built . I like building them box stock as you can see by my two restored Deal's cars , but some guys here love extra detailing , chopping and modifying everything they get a hold of ! I think the way YOU want to build it is the right answer. What parts are lost ? Some of the parts for the Bug Bomb are in other kits , so that can be a help in your restoration .

The mirror stumped me too- Take a look at the "mirror "on my VW , its a floor shifter ! I cut the knob off and stuck it in the fender . Chuck made some resin repros a while ago ; I don't know if he has any left.

The round mirror part is the shifter boot, it was molded in the shifter . Unpainted and with the shifter upside down I thought it looked better than nothing. It was in my junk box so I have no idea what kit it originally came from.
