Revell Go Mad Nomad

Built this over the last few days box stock, came with a surfboard with a propeller!
Headers hi viz pink after the paint we used in the 70's and 80's driving beetles and building kit cars. The paint was VHT (Very High Temperature) made to stop rust on exhasts, but to get it to stick the pipes had to be hot! No decals used in the build, suffering withdrawal symptoms. Chrome tape very handy!










Trying black background, driver wears shades.

Cheers Bert, yes it was a difficult choice, trying to find a colour I hadn't seen one of these in before!

That came out great ; I also like the color choice. Its amazing what a change in color to a kit can make it really stand out !

Great job! I often but the spray paint in the craft section at Hobby Lobby. Lots of different hues there(and cheaper than the model section)

I do the same thing at Michaels, they have Krylon One Shots in a rainbow of colors. No Hobby Lobby with in 200 miles of me.      Paul

Well where I am we have at 12 miles Hobbycraft, where modelmaking is not their thing, they are always short of glues paints!
On the other side (20 miles)a family run hobby shop that is mainly toys on ther ground floor and models upstairs. Basic choice of Tamiya or Humbrol paints, no jazzy stuff.
The owner likes RC, scalextric and railways, just a few kits and paints but better than Hobbycraft because they know the hobby, but not open Sunday's which is when I can get there. The only time is December when they are open 7 days due to Christmas coming!

Did you do all the Bare Metal Foil on the trim? Looks great! I'm working on a Go-Mad Nomad as well.

Hi stevielewis. Yes I put the brightwork on the build, but it's a plumbers tape. Roughly 2 inches wide, and 5 metres on a roll of very sticky tape!
