Never seen one of these built up before, and I really like the way you aged it and made it look like an "original" drag racer from back in the day. Kudos on a job well done

Thanks! I had a lot of fun doing it; it was less exacting/stressful/finicky than the usual model car build, and I bopped through it in jig time.

Nice weathering and x-tra details! That shifting arm can be a pain installing. LOL

I cut the hand off the big arm just below the handcuff, glued the arm to the torso, and cleaned up the seam. Then I was able to snake the arm out through the window while installing the monster from beneath the body. During final assembly I glued the hand back on (the handcuff hid the seam), and Bob's your uncle. Even doing it that way, it was a bit of a pain.

I do not know why I missed this one here? I have not built any of them yet, but yours looks amazingly fantastic, Steve, i love the details and the mods you have done, thumbs up! Could you please tell us something about the tires and their paint?

...Could you please tell us something about the tires and their paint? Thanks for the compliment! The tires are the ones that came in the kit, hard styrene. I painted them with my Grex airbrush, first the sidewalls with a dark grey (black + white + a touch of dark brown), and then painted the tread area with a much lighter grey (I added a bit more white to the mix). I also dusted the lighter mix onto the sidewalls where a light coming from overhead would hit them; that is, just below the wheel opening and on the upper "shoulder" (Green arrows in the pic). That gave them a bit bulgier look by accentuating the shape.

Thanks for explaining the the shifting arm fix, my kit is still in box. Your change ups really work and the weathering gives that "sat in the driveway for years" look. Now back to the strip. Cheers

That trick of using two tones of black/grey on the tyres works REALLY well. The finish looks super realistic I think. Nice build bud! Thanks for sharing with us!
