I've been absent for a while but I started a new build yesterday , the Tom Daniel re-issue of the "Little T" called the "Swee'T'ee . I actually remember when I bought this kit in the early 70's and it has survived along with several others . Since I've been restoring early Monogram kits I figured now was a good time to build one right out of the box with virgin plastic , and it will look great on the shelf next to the Boss A Bone I finished a while back ! First task was to glue the engine halves together , then sand and polish the main parts . The sanding and polishing sticks make quick work of this . I made some quickie decals for the tailgate and the radiator shell . It's hard to see in the photos but a coat of TS-13 Clear really makes the yellow pop ! I used Testors Yellow in the small bottle to detail some parts before assembly . And that's where I'm at right now . . . more to come !

I'll be watching. These are way expensive in the original form. I'm sure you will do it justice.

ohh, what a great looking build so far! The bare plastic looks GREAT with a little clear coat on top! Nice job!
What sort of printer did you use to print the decals? Just a regular sort that you'd use for printing documents?

The engine and chassis are coming together , all that yellow and chrome almost blends into one . I've done a few of these now and that front suspension can still be frustrating , especially with these old fingers .

Repainted engine and other misc parts with with a yellow that's a closer match to the plastic . Also opened the ends of the pipes !

Lookin good. Coincidental that I just started working on an AMT Yellow Fever and wanted to keep the original molded plastic color as well: What yellow did you use for the engine? The firewall plate didn't fit well and I'll need to do some touch-up

The firewall plate didn't fit well and I'll need to do some touch-up That Yellow Fever is cool ! I mixed a little red with they yellow until it matched . I like using craft acrylic paints (the $1 bottles at Michael's) because they mix easier and are water based . Then I brush on some clear when it's dry .

Bob nice score ,I've like this version of the little "t" . I'm planning to do this kit in 1/8 scale soon ,just finding some parts. Actually I bought this at the neighborhood hobby shop back in '71 or '72 , it's been all around the world with me along with a couple of dozen other kits .

I really didn't like the way the wheels attached to the chassis with just a small stub into a hole in the inner wheel , it was very flimsy and the wheel didn't fit snugly against the backing plate . The fix was to remove the center of the inner wheels and glue the wheel directly to the backing plate . I didn't get any real good photos of it but the fit is much stronger and better looking this way . All four wheels were done and by removing the inner star the finished wheel has a much better/thinner look .

Absolutely Stunning Brother Bob! The Yellow inlayed on the chrome really sets this off! Thanks much Bill ! A little secret . . . some of the yellow is paint and some of it is plastic .

The box art shows yellow seats with black inserts so first a white base is painted then I mixed some more yellow to match the plastic . The rest of the interior is left black .
